Wiggins Moments, A Look into the KU Star Andrew Wiggins

By this point, we’ve all heard that former Kansas star, Andrew Wiggins, isn’t pleased with his player rating on NBA 2k17.

Thankfully, he has plenty of actual basketball abilities to be proud of. I mean, he attempted a 720 dunk:

Andrew Wiggins spent only one season with the University of Kansas basketball team, but the Canadian basketball phenom provided plenty of moments for Jayhawk fans to be thankful for. And while Kansas football season has commenced, I’m sure basketball fans are anxious (like me) for the season to start. (25 days until Late Night in the Phog!!!)

While we anxiously await the first practice, here’s a look back on notable moments from Wiggins’ young career:

1. Wiggins scored 25 points and nabbed 13 rebounds amidst “overrated!” chants in his high school championship game.

2. He chose the University of Kansas over Florida State, Kentucky & North Carolina (on May 14, 2013 he committed to Kansas).

3. Wiggins scored 17 points and 19 rebounds in a 77-70 win at Iowa State on Jan 13, 2014. Wiggins was only the second freshman to get those numbers in 15 years.

4. He hit a half-court shot at Baylor on February 4, 2014.

5. He scored the game-winning basket at Texas Tech on February 18, 2014.

6. Wiggins scored 41 points at West Virginia (a loss), on March 8, 2014, the most since a freshman (Michael Beasley) scored 44 against Baylor in 2008.

7. He was selected first overall in the draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers (later traded to Minnesota Timberwolves) in the NBA Draft on June 26, 2014.

8. Wiggins played a season best game — 33 points and 4 steals on Jan 31, 2015 — in a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

9. He was named NBA rookie of the year in 2015.

10. Wiggins helped Canada win a bronze medal in Rio and averaged 15.1 points per game for Team Canada.

If you still haven’t seen enough of his best moments, here’s dunk highlights from the 2015-16 season:
