Sure, it was a great weekend of SPROTS. But here is what you missed if you didn’t sit in front of your TV every damn moment of the day on Saturday. This is a Monday morning roundup of all things FOOTBALL that happened while you were too busy having a life.
A few highlights and things that were obvious from Saturday’s showcase of all things college football:
- Two SEC teams have been beaten by two Big 12 teams TWO weekends in a row!
- Auburn shouldn’t be ranked at all, in fact all teams shouldn’t be ranked until week 5
- Kansas State went into overtime for the first time since 2011 against Texas A&M (4 OT win)
- Kansas did not lose this weekend due to a bye week!
- Ohio State faced tough match up with Northern Illinois?
- Mizzou hosted one of the worst teams at home and barely beat them
- Northwestern beat Duke on the road
- Texas should probably forfeit the rest of their games
There could be several reasons that this happened.

This is top 25 material.
Poor Texas, if only they didn’t have a network to drown their tears by watching football games of years past and had less national championships… I might feel sorry for them.

Now moving on to Sunday…
The NFL is a strange, strange place. One minute you’re on top of the world and on the cover of Sports Illustrated…
And the next minute you are getting your ass handed to you by the Cleveland Browns. To be fair, I don’t think anyone but GAT predicted that to happen this week. Tennessee showed signs of life but not enough to come back against a Manziel led team.
Manziel’s agent held nothing back, just like his client, and decided to say what’s good to Merrill Hoge:

I laughed. The usage of emojis has transformed the world and especially the internet world. NBA players using emojis over the summer turned into a giant newsworthy moment for some unknown reason, so why not continue the ridiculousness? Manziel has definitely comeback in the face of his haters to remind them what he’s capable of doing. Good for him.
In other news, Baltimore lost to the Raiders. That is not a joke. Derek Carr killed it all day all day.
Then the New Orleans Saints lost to Tampa Bay… in their own dome. Woof.
Set that GIF to “Angel” and start a gofundme for #40. Saints are looking like burnt toast this year.
Another surprising thing that happened on Sunday? Jacksonville won a game. Against a not-terrible Miami. What the hell?
Win or lose, SprotsTakes Morning Show will be up on Rabble at 9:00 AM CST, so be sure to check it out here:
