The senior class is the first group that Snyder has really hand-picked since he has been back. Like always he did a very good job with the class. There are 22 seniors on this year’s roster. They have given their all the past four or five years. The class is among the most successful in Kansas State history. These seniors have a 37-12 record, 5 consecutive bowl births and a Big 12 title in 2012.
BJ Finney started every game the past four years and is one of the stand out walk-ons. Muller, also a walk- on and team captain had 11.5 sacks last year, which tied for the programs best in a single season. Truman, another walk- on and team captain was the heart of our defense this year.
Jake Waters is currently ranked number one in the program for passing efficiency. The two years he was here he completed 390 out of 609 passes. Jake had 38 passing touchdowns and 14 rushing touchdowns. Curry Sexton and Tyler Lockett helped with these stats.
I remember when Curry Sexton would come to the complex every Saturday for a home game and go on tours with us as a potential recruit. I can’t believe he is already a senior and is already done with his time at Kansas State. I also remember when Tyler Lockett came on Saturdays to visit too. I told Kevin that his name tag that had BA on it meant Bad Ass (how embarrassing).
Out of all of our seniors I would say that Tyler has made the most impact. It’s too bad he was hurt here and there or else I feel like he would have had more than 27 touchdowns and had a lot more career receiving yards than 3,546. I’m glad he broke his dads record and that his dad was there to witness it. I’m sad to see these seniors go, but can’t wait to see what Snyder has in store for us next year.
