Holy shit, that was fun!
I have not been to training camp since I was a little kid and had no idea what I was really doing, I was just tagging along with my dad. This Saturday, we wound up in St. Joseph, home of the one and only Molls. Not only did we have a personal guide to the city but we had someone who knew where they were driving to so that was exciting. The four of us had a night out starting at the one and only Norty’s where we took over the jukebox, made everyone do a sing-a-long/dance off to some classic boy bands and old school hip hop. The atmosphere was awesome and the food was delicious, couldn’t ask for much more.
So we had a great time with the world’s greatest bartender, Justin, and we were obviously ready to seize the day at 7 am when all of our alarms were ringing. Starting off, Kansas City is not exactly known for beautiful weather in July. Especially late July, so we knew it was going to be a long day of heat and sun. Getting to training camp was a bit of a struggle… because you know, staying up late having pillow fights at the hotel and stuff. But we were dressed and on our way!
Sidenote: Those are the GOAT shirts that we created and you will soon be able to purchase in our brand new STORE!
While we didn’t make it 100% on time, and we didn’t get to harass Dee Ford the way we were hoping to, we got to see the defense really lay a smack down and solidify their improvements and adjustments since the season ended in a really embarrassing display of lack of depth on defense in that game that no one talks about because it is still too soon. As with ALL sports speculation and observation, we don’t know what is going to happen this season. But we wanted to start off strong by making a great appearance at training camp and in the process we made new friends, made new fans and really confused the hell out of some people.
Oh and did we mention that this happened??????? THE GOATEST OF GOAT MOMENTS FROM THE GOATEST OF NOT FOOTBALL SEASON SUNDAYS?!?!
Yep. That’s Molly in all her glory with Clark Hunt. I love this photo. Molly can add it to her collection of GOAT Chief’s things that she already has and it will go down as one of my favorite moments of the summer. What a bad ass owner that goes out and poses with us and even said he liked our shirts. That’s what’s up. Thanks to the Chiefs and our friends for going with us on this adventure, we can’t wait to see everyone out at Arrowhead very, very soon for another exciting season of football in Kansas City. Cheers!
