Sprots Takes Announcement

Since starting Sprots Takes in 2014, there have been many changes over the years. The latest changes have been incredibly exciting and have helped project Sprots Takes into the spotlight as Kansas City’s only all female sports talk show in history. I am incredibly proud of the last few months and the hard work my crew has done. The latest round of announcements are no different than all the other exciting news we’ve shared, so check it out!

Our very own Oklahoma-transplant, Sumer Wensman, will be taking over duties as co-host of the weekly ESPN Kansas City show. Sumer also works with Cowboys Ride For Free (an SBNation Oklahoma State blog) and NDNSports.com. Moving to the Kansas City area a little over a year ago, Sumer’s dislike of Kevin Durant and onions stays strong as well as her love for all things Oklahoma State. Her column this football season from the viewpoint of Mike Gundy’s mullet was an instant hit, launching her into a weekly column, “Here Comes Mullet.” Sumer’s passion for college softball, gymnastics and wrestling offer a different look into the world of college sports as well. We are incredibly excited to have Sumer joining us permanently as the co-host of Sprots Takes and look forward to her witty banter. In case you haven’t heard her first appearance on the show, check it out below:

Ellen looking glam thanks to the squad at BlowDry Room!

Since joining the Sprots Takes crew the first of the year, Ellen has quickly morphed into a key part of the Sprots Takes team. Between heading up our sales department and helping with our events, Ellen finds time to write about what she loves the most… K-State sports. With her passion for her alma mater and her passion for women in sports media, we are excited to have Ellen as our new Vice President. Not only is it an honor to have someone as driven and focused as Ellen, it is great working with her contagious energy. Please join us in welcoming Ellen on as our new Vice President!
